Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) or Limestone

C&E’s high-purity ground calcium carbonate, commonly referred to as GCC, is widely used as an industrial mineral. Three primary attributes: particle size, color and chemical purity define the quality of the GCC, and define the suitability of use for any given application. Our limestone material is sized to our customer’s specifications and can be processed further, if needed. Ground limestone can be delivered in varying particle sizes, ranging from 20 mesh to 325 mesh. The C&E plant can ship the ground limestone product in bulk, in tots ranging from 1500 pounds to 4000 pounds, or our convenient 50-pound bags.

  • C&E 200 (aka rock dust)

C&E 200 is finely ground calcium carbonate with a majority of the material finer than the 200 mesh (75 microns). C&E 200 is used for fire suppression in underground coal mining, as a calcium supplement for liquid livestock feed, in animal feed supplements, in pharmaceuticals, as a filler for asphalt concrete mixes, as a filler for ready mix concrete mixes, sealants, waterproofing membranes, and as a soil amendment to balance out the acidity of some soils.

  • C&E 70×120

C&E 70×120 is ground calcium carbonate with the majority of the product being less than 70 mesh (210 microns). C&E 70×120 is primarily used in roofing shingles and drilling fluids.

  • C&E 40×70

C&E 40×70 is a semi-course ground calcium carbonate with particle size ranging between 40 mesh (420 microns) and 70 mesh (210 microns). C&E 40×70 is used to stiffen molten glass in the glass manufacturing process, in dog and cat food as a calcium supplement, and in livestock and bird feed as a calcium supplement.

  • C&E 20×40

C&E 20×40 is course ground calcium carbonate with the particle size between 20 mesh (840 microns) and 40 mesh (420 microns). C&E 20×40 is used as a calcium supplement in livestock feed, as a calcium supplement in bird feed, as a water treatment media, as a soil amendment in potting soil to balance out the acidity of some plants, as a structural component in cast stone ornaments, and as a permeable grout mix for joints to control runoff and return water to the aquifer.

  • C&E 8×20

C&E 8×20 is a course ground calcium carbonate with the particle size between 8 mesh (2.38 mm) and 20 mesh (0.84 mm). C&E 8×20 is primarily used as a filler in fertilizer and a calcium supplement in poultry feed and as an open grade drainage rock for a permeable subbase.
